THE CAROLYN
PYRAMID SCHEME OF GRIEF
59 X RECORDS

The Carolyn will unveil Pyramid Scheme of Grief delivering plenty of emotion in its short runtime. Its is an absolute joy from start to finish, all wrapped up with phenomenal album art by Heather Kelly. Its has been a minute since an album has grabbed me quite like this.
From the outset, it is evident why this Atlanta-based trio is attracting attention within the indie-punk community. The group’s vocals evoke skater punk influences, complemented by refined melodic elements and distinctive, well-crafted guitar riffs that contribute to their unique sound. Most of the 11 tracks clock in at just over a minute and a half, yet they make a significant impact. Song of choice? This is hard, to be honest, I was captured at song one, “75mg Prologue” the essence of this album, and you know what you’re going to get.
These tracks are thick and sad. The Carolyn confronts themes of grief, burnout, and the challenges of adulthood in concise bursts, all while emphasizing smooth vocal melody – an absolute pleasure to review.
