THE CRISPIES – “RING MY DOORSTEP”
A Spill Exclusive Video Premiere
The Crispies debut album Death Row Kids celebrates ephemerality in a typical rock‘n‘roll way of life: fuzz, hooks, reverb, wrapped in adolescent hedonism and sex.Death Row Kids tears rock history apart – grunge, punk and psychedelic rock got grilled and recomposed in their very own style. It`s a driving, pushed forward, sometimes loud and raw, otherwise hypnotic sound. Comparable to their notoriously excessive live shows.
The Crispies are Tino Romana (vocals), Rob Wolfe (guitar), Bruno Marcus (bass) and Peter (drums), all 20 years young, all left-handers and from the same music school background. After their graduation in 2004 they founded The Crispies in Wolfe´s cellar, partly of lack of perspectives, partly just for fun. Their self-image is based on antagonistic tenses – based on rock‘n‘rooll cliches – concerning boredom and excess, self-mockery and sincerity. They like to compare their music to analog photography: spontaneous snap-shots, sometimes a beauty, sometimes kaput.
Artist Quote
Our generation lives in abundance, is bored, supersaturated of fun and commits suicide, slow but steady, in excess. ~ Tino Romana
