CUMGIRL8 SHARE “QUITE LIKE LOVE” STAND-ALONE SINGLE VIA 4AD
DEBUT LP PHANTASEA PHARM DUE LATER THIS YEAR
Stand-alone single “quite like love” by Manhattan four-piece cumgirl8 arrives following of a string of recent US headline shows and support dates with L7 and Bratmobile. With this throbbing, late night overture to twisted romance — decked out with gritty bass lines, distorted guitar riffs, and head-bobbing drumlines — the band further proves their infectious nature. Enacting an unsettling, industrial air, they touch close to Cabaret Voltaire in the style of “gothic pop and scuzzy dance-punk studded with horny prose”.
Earlier this year, cumgirl8 shared another stand-alone track entitled “glasshour.” Praised by many major publications, it’s release showcased all that’s exciting and unique about cumgirl8 via jarring electro-punk flourishes, industrial sludge, and an irrepressible hook tying it all together.
Both new stand-alone singles serve as a preview for the group’s upcoming debut record (due later this year), a follow-up to last year’s EP release, phantasea pharm (their debut with 4AD).
In addition to their newest release, cumgirl8 is in the midst of a run of live dates, including their recent support slots with Bratmobile and L7, as well as their previous appearance at SXSW in April. More dates to be announced and find more information HERE.
