What could be the key denominator for the artists who record for Olympia Washington’s stalwart recork label, K? Hard to put your finger on it, actually, but a great sense of melody. No matter how a specific artist or band dresses it up just might be the key.
That surely goes for the Bay Area’s band that goes under the name of Now and its latest offering Now Does The Trick. Their sound lies somewhere between Robyn Hitchcock’s Soft Boys period combined with the sound of both Postcard and Sarah Records, and of course, quite a few bands that record for K Records along the way.

It is all great melody and guitar jangle, with subtle harmonies along the way, all in great doses and all the right ways, a true pre-summer experience if you are searching for one, and you certainly should.
