Very often, the independent road in music has many more thorns than roses. You can come up with music that deserves to be heard, but reaching a wider audience needs time, patience and strong will. And you need plenty of those. One such artist trying to skip the thorns and pick up the deserved roses is Fort Wayne, IN, singer-songwriter Michael Paul Binz.

Binz has been coming up with a series of albums, with his latest, Let Me Be, clearly showing that you can come up with more than just decent music while you still remain in the shadows. A multi-instrumentalist that got enthused about music during the grunge era, Binz keeps offering a singer-songwriter take on what grunge initially had to offer, with some quality songs. Yet his strongest suit is one quite a few singer-songwriters fall short of—good storytelling capabilities and the ability to relate something personal to more than a single listener.
It is strong songwriting done right, something that shows more it has to offer with every new press on the play button.
