IN THE PINES
SUNBEAM DREAM
INDEPENDENT

Ok, so the name of your band associates with something sounding a bit Americana, you have a home studio in Cincinnati, Ohio, and at the same time you run a synthesizer repair shop in Dayton Kentucky, so how should your music sound?
Well, if there is something connected with The Band and their “Whispering Pines,” and Americana music as such, it just might be an afterthought in the very modern psych rock sounds of Cincinnati’s In The Pines, on their new album Sunbeam Dream, as they seem to have more musical connection with the likes of Tame Impala than the Americana-like of their band name might suggest.
And they do seem to know their synths well from the repair shop they run, as they are omnipresent here, but are not in the foreground and are solely an element that enhances their music, without running it.
What does run it is some detailed songwriting and instrumentation and excellent harmony vocals that are actually the elements that are the running fuel of the music here.
