With all the new artists/bands exploring Americana/roots music, there is always a chance that not all of them will reach the heights of those that have been working the genre for a while.

Yet, with those more seasoned acts such as Drew Holcomb And The Neighbors, you can almost always be sure they will not disappoint. That fact is quite confirmed with Holcomb and his long-time bandmates Nathan Dugger (guitar), Rich Brinsfield (bass), Will Sayles (drums), and Ian Miller (keys) on their latest release, ninth album Strangers No More.

And yes, that so assured and confident combination of all things roots and soul works almost to perfection – excellent musicianship and songwriting, along with Holcomb’s never-fail vocals.

Holcomb and the band decided to cover a wider range of topics here, and they do it with ease and excellence. “We wanted to be more ambitious with our sound and get the audience on its feet when we play these songs live, without turning our back on the singer/songwriter fans.” And it fully works. Again.
