DOMESTIC DRAFTS
ONLY THE SINGER
GLAMOUR GOWNS

Andy Cush’s name is probably familiar for those listeners following Garcia Peoples, as he is the band’s bassist, co-composer, and vocalist. He also runs a Substack page with a hefty following that presents his thoughts and musings about music in general.
Now, Cush has finally decided to come up with a debut solo album (the project has been in the works for years now), humbly titled Only The Singer. Yet, Cush doesn’t have to be humble about this album—it is filled with some excellent, thoughtful songwriting that is not strictly bound to any specific genre, although it can loosely fit into that so-general term of singer-songwriter.
And yes, Cush both sings and writes, and has gathered a serious set of collaborators including some members of his band as well as those from Adeline Hotel, Office Culture, Modern Nature, all fitting into his quite hip concept of modern songwriting, essentially creating here an album that opens its subdued qualities a song at a time.
