ALEX AMOR
HEAVENLY BODIES
VERO MUSIC

Some rock critics who take themselves seriously (probably too seriously) shy away from any music that has an even a remote connection with modern forms of pop (pure pop even more so), particularly the pop that a wide range of listeners immediately sticks to.
Well, they just might skip Heavenly Bodies, the debut album by Scottish singer and songwriter, Alex Amor. After all, even before the album was officially released the batch of singles from it already amassed some 800 thousand listens, a first sign for ‘discerning’ critics to skip this one.
Oh, yes, the songs on the album do abide by the rules and regulations of successful pop – immaculate musicianship, arrangements, and production around some good to very good songwriting, and Amor possessing a voice that can carry them, all elements prerequisite for successful.
Ok, so those ‘serious’ critics might avoid Alex Amor and her debut, but a wide range of listeners probably will not. After all, it is good pop that works.
