ABSOLUTE TREAT
SHATTERED LOVE
VICTORY POOL RECORDS

There’s always a question going round with music/albums/EP’s that are distinctively –should you simply disregard it simply because it is pop? Sure, it just might be that there is a question of taste in play, but then, you can answer that question by posing another one – what if it is good pop?
That is where Toronto quartet Absolute Treat, that previously went under the name of Dilettante come in, along with their latest 5-song EP Shattered Love. Well, you see (or hear, to be more precise), Natalie Panacci (vocals), Julia Wittmann (vocals; guitar) and bandmates Zachary Stuckey (bass) and Bradley Connor (drums) take their cues from two distinctive, very pop sources—the 70s version of Fleetwood Mac and (they shouldn’t really be ashamed of it) prime ABBA, both two of some key pop bands of any era. Along the way, they add some modern production touches to make things work even better for modern ears, and voilà, you have an excellent pop confection, and very often, that just simply works!
