You can follow in the footsteps of a giant like Bob Dylan, but to come up with some credible music in such a manner you still have to have at least a modicum of your own personality, musical and otherwise.

And yes, New York artist Arsun, full name Arsun Sorrenti, does present such individuality on his debut full-length album Babe I Hear Thunder In Your Heart. 

So, what if Dylan’s influence (as well as a few other artists like Springsteen) is all over the place here, if such influences have done good for Arsun, and they certainly should have.

Sorrenti has both the songwriting and vocal chops and enough of his own personality to transfer his personal experiences into quality music without turning into a copycat or a navel-gazer, who is simply focused on himself.

There is enough quality and promise here to make sure that we can expect even better things from Arsun.
