PRETTY CRIMES
EVERY MOMENT ALL AT ONCE
INDEPENDENT
Alternative rock and indie rock were such favorite terms back in the 90s, often attached to artists that actually combined a number of rock genres/styles within their music.
These days, the use of the terms seems to be on the wane, so it is no wonder that Raleigh, NC quartet Pretty Crimes defines their music as “Genre-Fluid.”
And frankly, listening to their latest album Every Moment All At Once, that is exactly the impression you get. The guys have quite an extensive and varied record collection that they have thoroughly digested and have come up with quite a melodic and smooth, guitar-led combination of choicy stuff, from David Bowie to Talking Heads and Kate Bush to Stevie Wonder, among others.
Yet their combination is neither messy nor chaotic, but something that is thoroughly enjoyable and, well, healthy.
