If you know that a band is located in Nashville and that their music is characterized as psychedelia, there is quite some certainty there that it will be some musical connection with spaced-out folk or country. And yes, on their first full length album The Return Of (an EP and a few singles preceded it) Nashville’s The Company Car certainly take that route.

To be frank, that is definitely a route on which they should keep their company (or any other) car on, as the band and its members seem to have sussed all the essential variations of countrified/folkified psychedelia, from the early 70s Laurel Canyon sound and the Grateful Dead folk phase to Meat Puppets 90s style of such a sound.

And it all seems to work both for them, but more importantly it can work for their listeners too, particularly those inclined to the more relaxed, spaced-out cosmic Americana as Gram Parsons first called it.
