“This started as a random piece i was jamming on in the studio – I was teaching the melody to Esthero, she started ‘ba ba ba-ing’ along – Mati our engineer was just testing the room mics and had hit ‘record’ – it was all laughs – after a while i walked back in the control room – we listened back to some of it – i thought ‘oh maybe we could use a bit of it as some kinda interlude on the album?’ – as i was getting ready to save the session I looked at the clock, it was 11:11pm (on the 11th of November!?@#$!!) – Whaaat? – OK!! Let’s dress it up as an ‘answering machine’ song, Call it … . . “MESSAGE 11” 😀 ”
