SPILL ALBUM REVIEW: L CON – WHATEVER

L CON

L CON
Whatever
Independent

Lisa Conway, also known as L CON, has released a four-song EP called Whatever. This etherealized and otherworldly EP features artists such as Casey MQ (Zaki Ibrahim, TiKa the Creator), Pursuit Grooves (remixes for Planningtorock and the Knife), Geordie Gordon (US Girls), and Evan Gordon (Islands).

Conway’s soothing and delicate voice flows through each song like water down a steady stream. Her voice glides through each transition effortlessly while the instrumentation beautifully enhances Conway’s vocal abilities.

Whatever begins with the dynamic “Winner.” This song has catchy lyrics and the slow build-upof an invigoratingly rich violin solo that closes out the song. Conway seems to blend the electronic sound seamlessly into her indie style voice. This is demonstrated in songs like “Believe” and “Everyday.”

This EP is unabashedly experimental and combines multiple genres to create something undoubtedly rare and unique.
